History in Action
Knowing the power in being able to touch the historical artifacts that one is studying, our history teacher, Mr. Carron, coordinated for a local historian to bring in his private collection.
Goal:
Help students to better comprehend history by seeing, touching and talking about the tools used during the Revolutionary War.
What did students learn:
What equipment and weapons were prevalent during the revolutionary war
The feel, function and weight of those tools and weapons

How did they learn:
Interacting with a local historian
Touching, carrying and exploring replicas of revolutionary weapons and equipment
Firing a musket!

Bottom Line:
When we get the chance, we bring books to life………….including firing a real musket during class time!
