Spring Intersession didn’t just take place on the Uwharrie Trail however. Two students spend their intersession doing a job shadow giving them valuable experience working in potential future careers. One student, who worked with nurses at Central Carolina Hospital said that she learned that a nurse’s job “Is to never judge, it is here always to help.” After working with a local florist for two weeks, one student said, “I loved being surrounded by beautiful things and seeing people's faces light up when they got their deliveries! The best part of small businesses is being able to see your clients.”
These kinds of hands-on, non-traditional learning environments are what we’re all about at Father Vincent Capodanno High School. Not only does Spring Intersession provide students with an educational experience that challenges them in ways a simple classroom environment cannot, they also receive full credits for the Intersession. So our Spring and Fall intersessions are both graded courses that students put on their transcripts. We can’t wait to see the amazing things our students continue to do while on Intersession.
