Father Vincent Capodanno High School was founded by faithful and determined individuals who believed in the mission and future of our school.
Today, that same spirit continues through our Board of Directors. United in their commitment to our mission, they provide the leadership and vision to guide our school forward. Together, they have developed a five-year strategic plan to guide our priorities and shape our future. Our annual report highlights the progress we are making in fulfilling our mission and developing resilient leaders equipped to pursue God’s purpose for their lives.
Meet the Board
Devon Capps
Devon Capps was born in southern California and raised in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains before attending the US Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. Commissioned in 2002, he served 22 years in the US Army and commanded soldiers in combat at every grade from lieutenant to lieutenant colonel across more than five years of deployments. He retired as a Colonel in 2025 and earned his MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business the same year. Today Devon serves as Chief Operating Officer of SAGINT, a digital infrastructure company (www.sagint.com). In 2016 he helped found Father Vincent Capodanno High School, and he continues to serve on its board as Vice Chairman. Devon has been married to Leia since 2004. They are raising their family and serving their community in Moore County, NC.
Mike Erwin
Mike Erwin is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves, where he is an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He founded two national non-profit organizations---Team Red, White and Blue and The Positivity Project. Mike is co-author of "Lead Yourself First" and "Leadership is a Relationship" and does leadership work with NC State, the University of Maryland and Fortune 500 companies including Exxon Mobile and Corning Glass.
Tracy Falcone
Tracy Falcone is a wife and mother of three who is committed to being actively involved in her church and community. She teaches post-Confirmation faith formation at her Catholic parish, organizes and leads an outdoor adventure group through Pursuit, and volunteers and substitute teaches at her children’s school. A former 911 dispatcher, she now owns a small agricultural business and is a Master Gardener who enjoys sharing her knowledge through community education. As a future parent of the school, Tracy is particularly enthusiastic about its unique approach to education and emphasis on developing leadership, resilience, and personal responsibility. Passionate about building relationships and bringing people together, she looks forward to connecting more families with a school she believes in.
Frances Klotz

Jeff Klotz
Dr. Klotz is a founding board member of Fr. Capodanno High School. He is originally from Wood Dale, Illinois. He attended the University of Notre Dame on an Army ROTC scholarship before attending the Uniformed Services University for medical school. He then served on active duty as a physician achieving the rank of Colonel with duty assignments at Ft. Sam Houston, Ft. Hood, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis and Ft. Bragg with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring from the Army in 2017. He currently works as a Hematologist / Oncologist for First Health of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, NC. He is married to Frances Klotz and they have 5 children together including two Grunt graduates. He is an active parishioner at Saint Anthony of Padua in Southern Pines, NC.

Our Advisory Board brings together individuals whose experience, knowledge, and commitment to our school help strengthen the work we do each day. They offer valuable insight and counsel as we continue to grow and provide students with an education that forms them spiritually, academically, and personally. Their support helps ensure Father Vincent Capodanno High School remains focused on preparing young men and women to live with faith, character, and purpose.
Amie Fraley
Amie Fraley has served as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills since 2014. Prior to this role, she was the Finance Director for the affiliate for three years following time on the Board of Directors and as a volunteer. Outside of work, she has served as a girl scout leader and in various roles within her church. She and her husband, Chris, have four children.
Mike Humphrey
Michael Humphrey is a seasoned executive with a track record of driving innovation and growth in the education and technology sectors. As President of Education 2020 (later renamed Edgenuity), he transformed the company into a leader in virtual curriculum, culminating in its acquisition in a $50 million transaction. Over his tenure, he played a pivotal role in scaling revenues from under $100,000 to over $30 million in just 30 months. Beyond Edgenuity, Michael co-founded Human Performance Labs, spearheaded strategic development at Compass Learning, and held executive roles at Broadcast.com and Simon & Schuster. A Texas Tech University graduate, Michael has also served on several boards, including US Youth Soccer and Astrotech Corporation. He resides in Austin, Texas, and enjoys mentoring businesses and championing innovative education solutions.
MG Clay Hutmacher
Clay Hutmacher is a retired Major General with a distinguished 40-year career in the United States Army. An Army Special Operations Aviator, he commanded at every level during his tenure, including leading the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and serving as Commanding General of the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command. Following his retirement in 2018, Clay became the President and CEO of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, where he continues his lifelong dedication to service. A native of Wenatchee, Washington, Clay holds degrees in Aerospace Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval Command and Staff College, and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He lives in Tampa, Florida, with his family and enjoys supporting initiatives that honor and assist military families.
Jay Lynch
Jay Lynch brings decades of expertise in business development and product management, specializing in the outdoor lifestyle industry. Since 1995, he has served as Business Development Manager for Stephen Gould Corporation, where he oversees new product launches, from design to manufacturing and retail placement, for both domestic and international markets. Jay is a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He resides in Dallas, Texas, with his wife and two daughters, where they are active members of their St. Thomas Catholic school community.
Bert Scott
Bert Scott is a business leader with over three decades of experience in sales and program development. Since joining Stephen Gould Corporation in 1991, he has managed key client relationships and developed supply chain solutions for domestic and international markets. Passionate about Catholic education, Bert has played a significant role in fundraising campaigns supporting Catholic schools in North Carolina. He also has a long history of coaching varsity basketball at St. Michael the Archangel. Bert, a graduate of SUNY Brockport with a BA in Business Marketing, has been married to Kelly for more than 35 years and is the proud father of four adult children.
